Last year, only 27.5% of trains arrived at Milngavie on time.
Too often, stops on the Glasgow-Milngavie line are skipped to make up for late-running services. This leaves passengers at stations
like Westerton and Hillfoot stranded with little to no warning. This causes frequent lateness and overcrowding on the trains that
do arrive. More and more people opt to take cars instead of using public transport because they can’t depend on the service.
Jo Swinson MP commented: “It is simply not good enough that passengers travelling to and from Milngavie are not able to rely on
Scotrail services. Scotrail needs to address the underlying issues which are causing delays, rather than causing commuters further inconvenience.”
