Kirkintilloch business owner Katie Seal showed local MP Jo Swinson the art of spinning yarn at her Townhead shop, Sealy MacWheely, last week.
Katie, who sells a variety of yarns and fibres in the shop, also holds regular Knit’n’Natter sessions and craft workshops. After hearing about the creative process, the MP took her turn at the spinning wheel.
Afterwards, Jo said:
“I had a great time meeting Katie at Sealy MacWheely and learning about the intricate craft behind spinning. Having quite a specific market and customer base can be daunting for a new business, but Katie’s workshops are a brilliant community space and a way to learn or develop new skills.
“It’s so important that our high streets support small local businesses and I hope that Sealy MacWheely thrives, as Katie is so committed and passionate about what she does.”
