Jo Swinson MP encourages local people to vote for Scotland's Most Beautiful High Street 2019

It’s fantastic news that Milngavie has recently been shortlisted for Scotland’s Most Beautiful High Street 2019.

Judged on criteria such as horticultural achievement, environmental responsibility and community participation, Milngavie was chosen among eight Scottish towns for the shortlist. The entries were judged by national towns agency Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP) and environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful.

The top spot will be chosen by the public, and you can take part in the online vote here: https://www.scotlandstowns.org/scotlands_most_beautiful_high_street. Votes should be cast by the end of the day on 10 November, and the winner will be announced at the beginning of Scotland’s Towns Week on 18 November.

Commenting on the news, Jo said:
“I’m delighted that Milngavie has been shortlisted for Scotland’s Most Beautiful High Street 2019. It’s great to see the town’s vibrant high street being recognised, and I would certainly encourage local people to show their support by voting for Milngavie!”
