Wide consultation necessary when detailed Kilmardinny plans come forward in August – Jo

Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire attended the CALA Homes public exhibition at the Allander Leisure Centre on Thursday.

The exhibition displayed only a small proposed change to the masterplan to accommodate a new Allander being built on its current car park rather than the old bus garage site. It is expected that more detailed plans for the Kilmardinny development will be published in August.

Commenting Jo said:

“It remains a big disappointment that the Reporter decided the Kilmardinny development could go ahead. No doubt the community will be very interested to see exactly what is planned for the site and will want to comment on the detailed plans when they are made public by the developers. I urged CALA to ensure they consult widely with the public, including an exhibition, leaflet drop and making the plans available online. That way the maximum possible community engagement can take place.”
