SNP need to fix A&E crisis - Jo

Local MP Jo Swinson is calling on SNP Ministers to tackle the health crisis facing A&E units.  Her call comes following new weekly statistics that show just 75.9% of A&E patients at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde were seen within four hours between 16 and 22 February, the worst figures of any health board.

Overall figures for Scotland showed that in the month ending January 31st, 87 percent of patients at A&E units were seen within four hours, against the interim target of 95 percent.

Commenting Jo said:

“These new statistics show us that far too many people are not being seen within the target treatment time.

“It is especially worrying that the NHSGGC has the worst wait times in the country.

“There is a crisis facing A&E departments as a result of the SNP taking their eye off the ball.

“We need answers about how the Scottish Government will address their missed waiting time targets.”
