Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire was delighted to join Radio Clyde DJ George Bowie as he officially opened the Royal National Institute for the Blind’s sensory garden at their Springfield Road centre in Bishopbriggs today
Funded by the RNIB with support from the community, the sensory garden has been designed as an environment for people who are blind or partially sighted to enjoy the smells, textures and sounds of a unique environment.
Commenting Jo said:
“The sensory garden is a wonderful oasis with lots of strong colours, contrasts, and texture in the plants and flowers chosen.
“There are also wind chimes and a waterfall to add to the experience.
“It’s set to be a great space for service users and it was great to hear how lots of help from local people made this project a reality.”
