Over £23,000 in lottery funds for local groups

Local MP Jo Swinson is delighted that over £23,000 in funding has been awarded to groups in East Dunbartonshire. The Awards for All Scotland programme awards up to £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local area.

Auchinairn After School Care Ltd received a £9883 Awards for All grant from Big Lottery Fund to purchase equipment and suitable clothing for its outdoor play project for local young people.  Bishopbriggs Tennis Club received a £3600 Awards for All grant from SportScotland and will run a programme of coaching sessions in local primary schools along with indoor coaching sessions for 3 – 8 year olds.  Group Recovery Aftercare Community Enterprise received a £9820 Awards for All grant from Big Lottery Fun to run a series of courses for its members.  The organisation supports adults that have come through difficult circumstances and are ready to get their lives back on track.

All three projects meet the Awards for All outcomes of ‘people and communities are healthier’ and ‘people have better chances in life’. Awards for All Scotland is supported by the Creative Scotland, sportscotland and the Big Lottery Fund.
