Jo has welcomed the outcome of this year’s nursery tendering process, and encouraged the Council review the long-term provision of nursery services.
East Dunbartonshire Council announced this week the allocation of partnership places to local nurseries.
After fears that the amount of partnership places would be reduced, parents and staff were pleased to hear that each nursery received as many places as requested.
Commenting, Jo said:
“There has been an anxious wait for parents and staff alike during the nursery tendering process, so it is a relief that the all nurseries that applied have secured partnership status and successfully tendered for places for the next 12 months.
“However, a thorough review of the Council’s long-term nursery provision is absolutely necessary, taking into account the needs of working parents for wrap-around care and future demand which could increase as new homes are built.”
