Christmas opening for M&S

Bishopbriggs M&S is set to open on 3rd December

Jo Swinson has welcomed the news that Marks & Spencer is set to begin trading in Strathkelvin Retail Park in time for Christmas.

Jo has learned that the expected opening date for the new store is 3rd December. Commenting on the news, she said:

"Bishopbriggs residents will be pleased by the prospect of being able to shop in their new local Marks & Spencer in the run up to Christmas. M&S will increase the choice for local shoppers and I'm sure many people in Bishopbriggs will welcome the fact that the store will open in time for the festive season.

"Having M&S in Bishopbriggs, it will be important that residents continue to support shops in the town centre, particularly with a difficult economic period ahead for small businesses. M&S has taken the lead and invested in Bishopbriggs; now the economic development team at East Dunbartonshire Council needs to encourage further retail investment in the town centre."
