Kidsplay nursery is working towards a Green Flag award for environmental standards

Jo Swinson MP has congratulated Kidsplay Nursery in Kirkintilloch for achieving a Bronze Award from Eco-Schools Scotland.

Schools are encouraged by Eco Schools Scotland to seek Bronze and Silver Awards before applying for the prestigious Green Flag Award for high environmental standards. To achieve the Bronze Award, the school or nursery must meet set criteria, including establishing a mixed committee of children and adults to discuss environmental actions.

After visiting the nursery today, Jo Swinson said:

"Many congratulations to the staff and children at Kidsplay nursery on achieving their Bronze Eco School award. This success shows that it's never too young to be taking steps to protect the environment.

"There are now 75 schools and nurseries in East Dunbartonshire that have achieved Bronze and Silver Awards, as well as 23 with one or more full Green Flag Awards. It is wonderful to see such a strong commitment to high environmental standards in education across East Dunbartonshire. Any school or nursery that wants further information about Eco School awards can contact my office on (0141) 762 2209."
