Milngavie Primary pupils welcome Jo Swinson5.02.00pm GMT Mon 1st Oct 2007 Milngavie Primary School welcomed Jo Swinson today, as the East Dunbartonshire MP gave a talk to P6 and P7 pupils on her job as a Parliamentarian, and met briefly with the other classes. After the visit, Jo said: "It was a pleasure meeting the bright and lively pupils at Milngavie Primary today. We had an interesting discussion about the basics of politics including what an MP does, what the role of Prime Minister involves and how the Scottish Parliament has changed politics in Scotland. "I was particularly interested to hear about the P6 project on Government, and I am confident that the upcoming talk by Councillor Eric Gotts and visit to Tom Johnston House will help broaden their understanding of representation further. "I was highly impressed by the level of political awareness shown by pupils in all the classes, and I wish them the best of luck with their future studies."
