Jo is running the Loch Ness Marathon for the Anaphylaxis Campaign

Having tackled the Glasgow Women's 10K run and Great North Run, Jo Swinson is gearing up for her biggest challenge yet - running the Loch Ness Marathon on 7th October.

Jo will run the 26.2 miles alongside the famous Loch to raise money for the Anaphylaxis Campaign, which aims to raise awareness and offer help to the thousands of people in the UK who manage life-threatening allergies on a daily basis.

Jo said:

"I am looking forward to taking on the Loch Ness Marathon and my preparation is going well. Luckily, having the reservoir in Milngavie on my doorstep means I have a great local place to train.

"Finding places to train in London when I am at Westminster can be more difficult, but early morning sessions in the House of Commons gym certainly help me stay mentally alert for busy days in Parliament.

"I suffer from a nut allergy, which provokes a severe reaction if I eat the wrong foods, so I appreciate how vital the work carried out by the Anaphylaxis campaign is. I hope to raise as much money for the charity as possible by the time of the marathon on 7th October."

Jo will be delighted to accept sponsorship for her marathon bid. Cheques payable to the Anaphylaxis Campaign can be sent to Jo's office: 4 Springfield House, Emerson Road, Bishopbriggs G64 1QE. Online sponsorship is also possible via the link below.
