Jo looks forward to future Bearsden ski champions5.54.00pm GMT Fri 20th Apr 2007
Jo Swinson hopes to see West of Scotland Snowsports Centre nurturing a new wave of sporting talent in the near future. Jo visited the centre in Bearsden today and was impressed by the investment that has gone into making the facility one of the best of its kind in the UK. Commenting after the visit, Jo said: "Investment of £1million and an ambitious 12 month redevelopment programme have given West of Scotland Snowsports Centre a new lease of life. The state-of-the-art 'Snowflex' jumpslope is seen as the best of its kind in the UK. "The result of this investment is the emergence of some serious local talent - including current overall senior British ski champion Dougie Crawford. I am delighted to see that the centre now has the potential to be a training ground for future champions." Snowsports Centre manager Drew Tavers added: "We were pleased to be able to welcome Jo Swinson to the Snowsports Centre, to show her the work that has gone into improving the centre in the past year. "With a membership of over 1,200 people, among them some of the best skiers in the UK, the future is looking bright for the centre." West of Scotland Snowsports Centre can be contacted on (0141) 943 1500. Related Links:
