Commenting on the award of £5.8m from the National Lottery for a museum dedicated to Robert Burns, Liberal Democrat Shadow Scottish Secretary, Jo Swinson said: "This important award is to be welcomed. "Robert Burns is a national icon and a beacon for Scottish culture worldwide. "Whilst his place in literary discourse is assured, this museum will ensure his legacy is made more accessible to inspire future generations. "This is a timely example of the vital importance of ensuring that that Lottery funding earmarked for Scotland reaches Scotland." Related Links:BBC News: 'Burns Museum wins £5.8m funding'
