Jo is still seeking to reach her £750 fundraising target

Jo is well on the way to meeting her target of raising £750 for diabetes UK, after completing the recent Great North Run half marathon in under 2 hours.

She is still collecting sponsorships, both through traditional donations and via www.justgiving.com/joswinson, and is under £100 away from reaching her final target.

Jo commented:

"I chose to take part in the Great North Run for Diabetes UK to do my bit to help the two million people in the UK living with diabetes, among them my sister and many of my constituents in East Dunbartonshire. Diabetes UK does vital work, giving advice and support for people who currently have diabetes, and funding research to make diabetes a thing of the past.

"People have been fantastically generous so far in supporting my fundraising, and the race is still on for me to reach my £750 fundraising target. Any more donations made either online at www.justgiving.com/joswinson or sent direct to me will be very gratefully received.

"Finishing the Great North Run half-marathon in under two hours gave me a great sense of achievement. It was a real challenge but worth all the training and preparation."

Jo's time for completing the Great North Run half marathon was 1 hr 59 mins 24 secs.
