The latest announcement on short-stay beds at Stobhill has been welcomed by Jo

It has been confirmed by NHS Greater Glasgow that 12 short-stay beds have been incorporated into plans for the proposed Stobhill ACAD Hospital.

Following the announcement, Jo said:

"This announcement is very welcome news for Stobhill. The Health Board's change of heart over short-stay beds has come about because of a huge collective effort by local campaigners, politicians from across party lines and media outlets, particularly the Bishopbriggs Herald.

"It is a milestone for those fighting to save services at Stobhill, but there is more that can be achieved. It is vital that Ministers and Health Board members get the message that this is just one step in the right direction.

"I pressed strongly for short-stay beds in a meeting with Health Board Medical Director Brian Cowan last year, have held other meetings since and will continue to work towards to securing key facilities at Stobhill."
