Lord Steel meets voters in Bearsden, Milngavie, Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch

Lord Steel joined Jo Swinson and her team in Milngavie today

Former Liberal Democrat leader Lord David Steel joined Jo Swinson on the campaign trail in East Dunbartonshire today.

Lord Steel joined Jo meeting voters in town centres across the constituency, spending time in Milngavie, Bearsden, Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs.

Many voters were delighted to meet Jo and David, and pledged their support.

Lord Steel said, "I'm enjoying my retirement, being able to spend the election campaign visiting target seats and helping the next generation of Lib Dem MPs - like Jo Swinson - to get elected. She will be an excellent MP for the area."

Newsnight Scotland followed Jo and David on their walkbouts in Bearsden and Kirkintilloch, for a piece they were filming on marginal seats.
