Jo Swinson has been fighting hard to save Bishopbriggs Post Office

Michael Moore MP today visited local Parliamentary Spokesperson Jo Swinson in East Dunbartonshire, which is a top target seat for the Lib Dems at the forthcoming election.

Jo took the Deputy Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats to the Post Office in Bishopbriggs, and showed him her petition to save the Post Office, which attracted over 2300 signatures.

Jo said, "The Post Office is a vital lifeline for many people, particularly some of the most vulnerable in our community. Bishopbriggs needs a Post Office in the town centre - local people have made that clear. I will continue to press the Post Office to find an alternative, central location before Morrisons close the Post Office in June. Michael's support today for the campaign is very welcome.

Michael Moore MP said, "I was delighted to come to Bishopbriggs to support Jo in her campaign. The huge response to her petition to save the post office shows just how important this issue is to local people. Jo would be an excellent, hard-working MP for East Dunbartonshire."
