Jo Swinson: We must keep a Post Office facility in Bishopbriggs town centre

Jo Swinson has sent the 2300 signatures collected on the petition she organised to Save the Post Office to Morrisons. The huge response was achieved with the help of dozens of people across Bishopbriggs who not only signed the petition themselves, but also took extra forms and collected signature from friends, family and neighbours.

Jo said, "The massive response to this petition shows how important it is that we keep the Post Office facility in Bishopbriggs Town Centre. The current location within Safeway is ideal. I hope that Morrisons bosses will look at the 2300 names and messages from the people of Bishopbriggs, examine their consciences and reverse their closure plans."

She continued, "It is however good news that in the meantime the Post Office is actively seeking out alternative options should Morrisons continue to ignore the wishes of the community. It's clear that we need to keep a Post Office in the town centre."
