Cllr Cathy McInnes tells Jo Swinson about the fight to protect the marshland from development

Councillor Cathy McInnes and the villagers of Torrance will fight on to save a marshland area from development. Since 1971 developers have tried to build on the area but villagers, Councillors, the Scottish Executive and now the Scottish Ministers have resisted. The developers have appealed against the Ministers' ruling.

Councillor McInnes said, "The marshland is popular with local people who walk or go riding there. It is a birdwatchers' paradise and, once its future is secure, I will be working to make the most of it as an educational resource for children."
