Jo takes Save Bishopbriggs Post Office campaign to Morrisons HQ10.57.46pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 22nd Jul 2004
This week Jo Swinson took the campaign to Save Bishopbriggs Post Office to Morrisons Head Office in Bradford. Local Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson Jo Swinson travelled to Yorkshire to hand in the first batch of petition slips and deliver a "Message to Morrisons" from the people of Bishopbriggs. Jo Swinson has received a massive response to her petition urging Morrisons to reconsider their plans to close the Post Office, which also includes space for people to send their own personal "Message to Morrisons". She said, "Hundreds of people have already signed the petition, with more being added every day. People in Bishopbriggs are very angry at this decision. Morrisons should listen to the message they are being sent, and find a way to work with the Post Office to keep the Post Office open in the store."
