The Lib Dem run Council has applied to the Scottish Executive for a multi-million pound refurbishment of schools in East Dunbartonshire. A bid for £150million to invest in our schools over the next few years has been sent to Holyrood.

Education Convenor Cllr Eric Gotts said:

"We urgently need to invest in our schools. We have to catch up on a backlog of repairs and bring our school buildings into the 21st century. That is why we have lodged our bid with the Scottish Executive. If our bid is successful, the Liberal Democrats will have delivered yet more improvements for our local school pupils."

The Scottish Executive is expected to announce the outcome of the bid later in the year.
