Local MP Jo Swinson paid a visit to the Mosshead Lunch Club last week to speak to members during afternoon tea. The club, situated at the Mosshead sheltered housing facility in Bearsden, offers food, drink, activities and a place to meet and chat for the housing’s residents.
Jo spoke with Jacqui Pollok, the housing warden for the past 23 years and club members, who discussed local bus services and schools with her.
Commenting, Jo Swinson said:
“Mosshead Lunch Club is a wonderful resource for the housing’s residents and I was delighted to meet its members today and see the activities going on.
“For elderly people, especially those living alone, lunch clubs offer a vitallifeline and this popular club is obviously a firm favourite amongst its members who look forward to the opportunity get out and chat to friends.”
