East Dunbartonshire MP Jo Swinson attended Morrisons’ public consultation exhibition last Wednesday where plans for their proposed new Bishopbriggs store and the town centre redevelopment were unveiled.
The drawings include a new state-of-the-art store, car park and a petrol station. As part of the plan East Dunbartonshire Council would create a community hub and civic space area.
Commenting, Jo said:
“I hope Morrisons’ take community comments on board and make changes to their plans to reflect the concerns expressed about the distance of the store from the rest of the town centre shops and the lack of amenities for young people.
“From the lively Town Team meeting I attended following the exhibition it is obvious that many local residents still feel there is more work to be done.”
