Jo welcomed former Liberal Democrat leader Charles Kennedy’s speech to the annual party dinner last Friday.
Local Liberal Democrat supporters and activists enjoyed dinner and the evening’s events, including a prize raffle, before being addressed by the guest of honour.
After leading the Liberal Democrat party from 1999-2006 and as MP for Ross, Skye and Lochaber, Charles Kennedy gave a rousing speech reflecting on his long-standing connections with the West of Scotland and last year’s big political changes leading to the Liberal Democrats entering into Government.
Commenting, Jo said:
“It was great to catch up with some of East Dunbartonshire’s Lib Dem supporters on Friday night, whilst enjoying the food and listening to Charles Kennedy’s fantastic speech. His tremendous political career has certainly provided him with many interesting stories and it was a pleasure to have him as the evening’s guest of honour.”
