Kirkintilloch woman Holly Millar has been congratulated by Jo on winning a prestigious ‘Scotland’s Got Talent’ award.
Holly, who volunteers at Jo’s office for a few hours each week, received the award today which recognises the achievements of people with learning disabilities.
After seeking the support of community organisation C-Change, Holly became more confident and took more control of her own life. Now in her second year of degree from the University of the West of Scotland in Law and Politics, Holly helps out in Jo’s office as well as directing ‘Dates ‘n’ Mates’, Scotland’s only dating and friendship agency for people with learning disabilities.
Commenting, Jo said:
“I am delighted that Holly has received this fantastic award, which is well-deserved for her dedicated efforts to transform her life and become more independent. Holly is an enthusiastic and hard-working young woman and her achievements, from starting a degree to running the Dates ‘n’ Mates agency, are an inspiration to us all.”
