P7 Killermont pupils meet MP Jo

Local MP Jo Swinson visited Killermont Primary School in Bearsden recently to meet staff and chat to children.

Commenting, Jo said:

“I had a lovely time at Killermont meeting teachers and chatting to the children.

“We talked about what the work of an MP involves, and there were loads of interesting questions from pupils – on everything from Brexit to local house prices!”

Head Teacher Elspeth Smith said:

“Jo visited P7 in support of their learning of social subjects. She discussed a range of current political and economic issues with them enabling them to expand their knowledge of current affairs.

“She answered their questions fully and gave them an inspirational insight into her work to make workplaces fairer for all. P7 really enjoyed her visit and are inspired to continue to look at how they can campaign to make this a fairer world.”
