Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire held a question and answer session with Douglas Academy pupils in Westminster yesterday.
The Modern Studies and History pupils sat down with Jo after taking a tour of the Houses of Parliament.
Commenting, Jo said:
"It was a treat to sit down with pupils from Douglas Academy and answer some of their questions.
"It's great that while taking in a historic tour of the capital they were able to tour the Parliament and see the centre of British political history.
"I hope my answers to their questions got them fired up about politics in a different way than in the classroom."
Douglas Academy teacher Joan Docherty added:
"S4 pupils studying History and Modern Studies found their visit to the Palace of Westminster both exciting and interesting.
"Seeing the House of Commons, the House of Lords and meeting with Jo Swinson for an informative question and answer session, has really helped bring the curriculum to life.
"As pupils prepare for their Standard Grade examinations next year, they do so with a greater understanding of the workings of Parliament and the role of their MP. This is a central part of our History/Modern Studies trip and is something our young people will remember for a very long time."
