Local MP Jo Swinson recently visited Kelvinside Academy Green Forest Nursery, meeting with teachers and children.
The nursery’s open-plan play areas and welcoming environment encourage children develop their sense of curiosity. Jo participated in the nursery’s outdoor activities and saw first hand the positive impact of outdoor learning on young children.
Jo also heard about Kelvinside Academy’s School of Innovation, the first of its kind in the UK, which will open in September. Through its partnerships with world-leading education pioneers, the innovation centre aims to push the boundaries of traditional learning.
Commenting, Jo said:
“It’s great to see children learning and having fun in such a welcoming outdoor environment. It really encourages children to explore and learn important skills from a young age by challenging traditional educational methods.
“The nursery, along with the academy’s groundbreaking School of Innovation, is a standout example of the importance of giving children a strong educational foundation from a young age.”
