Jo tells local pupils about life as an MP

Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire made two visits to local schools in the past week to discuss her work as an MP and her role in government.

Jo visited the P6 pupils at Killermont Primary and the P7 pupils at Westerton Primary to discuss a typical day for an MP in Westminster and in the constituency.

Commenting, Jo Swinson said:

“I always enjoy visiting local schools and talking to pupils about the work I do, both in the local area and in Parliament.

“The children asked an interesting range of questions – from what I think of communism to whether I’m a cat or dog person!  I was impressed with their level of knowledge and engagement in current affairs.

“They were an excellent and very welcoming audience and I let them know if they were ever in London with their parents I’d be happy to arrange a tour for them to see Parliament.  Any constituent interested in a tour should visit my website for more details http://www.joswinson.org.uk/tours_of_parliament.”
