Swinson MP has met an East Dunbartonshire organisation also raising funds for the same good cause.
Jo is running the London Marathon on 17th April to raise money to beat blood cancers. As part of their regular fundraising activities, Glasgow North and Bishopbriggs Rotary Club are holding their annual golf outing on 20th May, and hope to raise £15,000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research’s 260 research projects across the country.
Commenting, Jo said:
“The London Marathon will be a very long and difficult run, but the knowledge that I am raising money for such a good cause has been a great motivator throughout all my training. The fantastic efforts of Bishopbriggs Rotary club will also raise awareness of the importance of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research’s work here in East Dunbartonshire, so I would urge local golfers to visit www.beatbloodcancers.org, enter a team and get signed up!
“With more than £2500 raised already for this excellent cause, I am extremely grateful for the kind and generous donations people have made in sponsorship, and will be doing all I can to raise even more. Every penny will make a big difference to the lives of the 30,000 people up and down the country who are diagnosed with blood cancers each year.”
