Jo’s Road to Referendum campaign heads to Milngavie

Local MP Jo Swinson will be hosting a public meeting in Milngavie on Friday 18th July, as part of her Road to Referendum campaign in the run up to September’s crucial independence vote. The meeting starts at 7pm in Milngavie Town Hall, and Jo is encouraging anyone who wants a question answered on independence to attend.

Commenting, Jo said:

“Following successful meetings in Bearsden, Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs, I am looking forward to continuing the discussion on independence with local people in Milngavie. All are welcome to attend, and please invite family and friends along to this meeting.

“As we get ever closer to September’s referendum I believe it is vital people have the clear answers they need on independence, which is why I decided to host these public meetings. The SNP’s vision for independence is unravelling, and we are still left none the wiser on key issues like the cost of setting up an independent Scotland or what currency people would have in their pockets.

“I am a passionate supporter of Scotland remaining in the United Kingdom; together our finances are more secure and we are stronger on the international stage. With the promise of further powers to the Scottish Parliament we can have the best of both worlds, and this would be achieved by a “No” vote against independence.”
