Local MP Jo Swinson has been shortlisted for an award for her work at Westminster having been nominated for the ‘Women in Public Life Awards’ in the MP of the Year category.
The award will go to the most effective woman in the House of Commons who has shown outstanding achievement during the parliamentary year, either as a minister or backbencher.
The awards organised by Dods and in association with ActionAid UK, are now in their sixth year and will honour outstanding women leaders across society, and recognise the work of women in politics, business, the civil service and communities.
