Jo raises more than £5000 to beat blood cancers

Jo has raised more than £5,000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research following her 26.2 mile London Marathon run.

The total amount of money Jo raised, £5,408.02, will go toward the charity’s 260 research projects across the country, and is more than double Jo’s target of £100 for every mile of the marathon.

Commenting, Jo said:

“I am delighted to have raised more than £5,000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research. Knowing I was running for such a worthwhile cause was a great motivator, particularly during my dark morning training runs. I am extremely grateful for the many donations I received and would like to thank local residents, friends and colleagues for giving generously.

“30,000 people across the UK are diagnosed with blood cancers each year, and this money will go a long way to finding the causes of these illnesses, developing new treatments and funding clinical trials.”
