MP Jo Swinson recently visited Turnbull High School in Bishopbriggs to talk to their Higher Modern Studies classes.
She answered questions about Parliamentary process, particularly the influence of MPs on the Brexit process. As a former Government minister, and a current opposition MP, Jo was able to explain how policy is made, as well as the role MPs have in holding the Government to account.
Jo said: "I enjoyed speaking to the students at Turnbull High School. I told them all about the work that MPs have been doing on Brexit, and chatted to them afterwards about their assignments. I’m so pleased that young people are getting a good education in politics, something that affects every facet of life in overt and subtle ways."
