Jo joins a Bookbug session

Jo has paid a visit to one of East Dunbartonshire’s ‘Bookbug Sessions’ for children and their families at Milngavie Library.

Organised by the Children and Young People’s Library Service, the sessions are held across East Dunbartonshire’s libraries and community venues to encourage babies, toddlers and their families to enjoy songs, rhymes and stories together.

The scheme is run in partnership with Scottish Booktrust to promote the fun of reading, build children’s speech and language skills, and give parents and little ones the opportunity to meet other families in the local area.

Commenting, Jo said:

“It was wonderful to see local families coming together at the Bookbug Session to share the joy of reading through songs and group activities. These baby and toddler sessions are a great way of introducing little ones to catch the reading ‘bug’ whilst enjoying imaginative fun in a friendly and safe environment.
