Local childcare provision was the topic for discussion this week, as Jo visited Pinocchio’s Nursery in Bishopbriggs.
Jo spoke with staff at the nursery about their experiences of working in childcare and met some of the children that regularly attend Pinocchio’s.
Commenting, Jo said:
“Children attending nursery are at a crucial age for learning to play, communicate and socialise. Pinocchio’s clearly provides a great environment for young children to develop these skills.
“Affordable childcare provision is an invaluable asset to any community and I am thrilled that there are such high quality facilities, like Pinocchio’s Nursery, available in East Dunbartonshire.
“The main challenge now is to ensure that as many children as possible are able to benefit from these facilities. The Scottish Government must help to make childcare flexible and affordable for all parents, which is especially important in these difficult times when many families are struggling with high childcare costs.”
