Jo is highlighting advice available for constituents struggling to heat their homes.
The Home Heat Helpline offers specially trained advisors to assist with any concerns you may have about heating your home this winter.
Commenting, Jo said:
“According to Energy Action Scotland, more than a quarter of households in Scotland were living in Fuel Poverty last year. As the long term pressure on energy prices is upwards, we can expect that figure to rise unless there is concerted action by the Government.
“There are many reasons why people may struggle to heat their homes, including not claiming all the benefits they are entitled to and not being on the lowest heating tariffs.
“I would urge anyone concerned to call the Home Heat Helpline on 0800 33 66 99 for advice that may help them cope.
“Whilst some may benefit from advice, we still need to see urgent action from the Government to tackle the cost of heating, particularly in older homes.”
