Jo helps Jedworth Court residents get online

After donating two office computers to a local housing association, Jo Swinson MP joined residents for their first internet tuition session

Jedworth Sheltered Housing Association in Bearsden recently secured a grant from the Big Lottery Fund to set up the building’s first internet cafe space.

Jo called in to see the tuition session for 16 residents organised by Alex Davidson, the association’s secretary – many of whom were getting busy on the internet and setting up their own email accounts.

Commenting, Jo said:

“Whether sending emails to friends and family, searching for the latest news or connecting up with local interest groups, getting online will have a really positive impact on Jedworth residents.

“After donating two old office computers to the scheme I was delighted to see residents getting involved and closing the ‘generation gap’ by learning about new ways to communicate.”
