Local MP Jo Swinson has welcomed the news that St Joseph's Nursery in Milngavie was once again successful applying for funding to improve their premises.
The nursery has secured a total of £10,000from the Communities and Family Fund to complete necessary alterations to a hut they recently confirmed long term lease of. The new hut needs work done before it can host regular nursery classes as well as several community events including a ladies pampering night, a quiz night, a Mother's Day tea party, and a concert for residents from a nearby home.
Commenting Jo said:
"This award will benefit not just the parents and children who use the nursery but also the wider community thanks to the plans for community events.
"The staff are to be congratulated for their fundraising efforts and I look forward to visiting the nursery to see the great work when it's done."
- The Communities and Families Fund is set to run over the next three years with £4.5 million from The Scottish Government and £1.5 million from the Big Lottery Fund. The £6 million fund offers grassroots projects the chance to get funding of between £250 and £10,000. This fund is focused on improving early learning, health and wellbeing for children under eight years old by supporting them, their families and communities.
