MP visits recently refurbished Kirky primary school

Local MP Jo Swinson visited Holy Family Primary School in Kirkintilloch recently for a tour of the refurbished building, to meet staff and chat to P6 and P7 pupils.

Commenting, Jo said:

“It was great to visit Holy Family and see the excellent results of their major refurbishment.

“I had a lovely time chatting to pupils. As well as discussing topical political issues like Brexit and independence, we also explored some interesting questions about recovering from setbacks and how to disagree well.”

Andrew Gallagher, Acting Head Teacher, said:

“The pupils of Primary 6 and 7 really enjoyed the visit of Ms Swinson. The pupils were eager to display their knowledge of local, national and international issues and Ms Swinson eagerly engaged with the discussions that took place.

“We would like to thank her for taking the time to tour the school, meet the pupils and share her experiences of being an MP.”
