Last Friday Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire sat down with Gloria Coates from Tesco Corporate Affairs and Andrew Perrie from Manson Architects to speak in depth about the specifics of the proposed changes to the Tesco store in Milngavie.
Jo urged Tesco to ensure the public has a full understanding of exactly how the new store will look by creating a scale model or at the very least ensuring the computer generated drawings include local contextual markers such as the adjacent Gavin’s Mill.
Commenting Jo said:
“While Tesco’s current plans now include a smaller footprint, they still have not budged on the amount of trading space they plan to include in the new store.”
“I’ve urged Tesco to let local people know exactly what their plans are and help locals visualise the new building.”
“As I’ve said before a scale model is the best way to do this.”
“Computer generated images and fly-through should include both a ‘before’ and an ‘after’ of what the site will look like so locals have an accurate picture of the impact of Tesco’s plans.”
