MP for East Dunbartonshire Jo Swinson visited the Bright Horizons nursery in Bishopbriggs this week to meet staff and chat to children.
Last year, the staff team at Bright Horizons was shortlisted for the Nursery Team of the Year Award as part of the 2017 Scottish Nursery Management Today (NMT) Awards, which recognises and rewards the very best people and teams across the nursery sector in Scotland.
Commenting, Jo said:
“It was great to meet the amazing staff at Bright Horizons, who are clearly committed to engaging parents and children in decisions about the nursery’s future.
“They told me about their recent vote on what would replace the ‘Big Red Bus’ in the nursery garden, with the winning idea soon to be unveiled.
“I enjoyed chatting to the pre-school children. When I asked them to guess the colour of the seats in the House of Commons, I was especially taken by one child’s suggestion that they might be sparkly!
Kyrie Anderson, Nursery Manager, said:
“We were absolutely delighted to welcome Jo Swinson MP and appreciate her taking time from her busy schedule to spend time with us.
“Her visit offered us a fantastic opportunity to highlight the exceptional care and education that takes place throughout our nursery every single day, and the children really enjoyed discussing with Jo about her job in Parliament and whether or not she had met the Prime Minister.”
