Jo Swinson MP for East Dunbartonshire gave the Reply from the Lassies at the annual fundraising event
On Friday February 10 Jo Swinson attended the 8th annual Scouts Scotland Burns Supper. Hosted by comedian and broadcaster Andy Cameron, the night was a rip-roaring success with great food, entertainment and lots of laughs. Former MP and MSP Dennis Canavan gave a humours Toast to the Lassies, which Jo replied to in a similarly light-hearted style. All proceeds went to the Scout Association Scotland Scouting who offer challenges and adventure for boys and girls alike.
The previous night before Jo had dropped in on the 45th Kirkintilloch Scouts group to meet the boys and girls and watch as they took part in games and teambuilding exercises. Jo took part in the exercise about fire-lighting and was presented with a 45th Kirkintilloch neckerchief.
Commenting, Jo said:
“The annual Burns Supper was a brilliant night with lots of good fun. It was great to visit the boys and girls at 45th Kirkintilloch the evening before to see the amazing work that is supported by this fundraising event.”
Commenting Glenn from the 45th Kirkintilloch said:
“Scouting plays an important part in challenging Kirkintilloch’s young people to get the most out of life and it was great that Jo dropped in and spent some time doing practical Scouting activities with her young constituents.”
