Local MP Jo Swinson MP is praising Bearsden Academy for their semi-final round appearance in the Debating Matters National Final Competition in London. The local team was knocked out of the competition last Saturday when arguing for the motion "The Baby Boomers Have Squandered Their Children's Future."
Despite not making it to the top spot, Bearsden Academy's Dougie Morton won the Best Individual Award.
Commenting Jo said:
"The debating team at Bearsden Academy should be proud of making it all the way to the semi-final round in London last weekend.
"And a special mention is due to Dougie Morton for being chosen as the Best Individual.
"They've done the local area proud."
