Local MP Jo Swinson is claiming Tesco used leading questions at last week’s public consultation exhibition. Tesco held the events in order for residents to have their say on the future of the Milngavie branch of their store.
Commenting Jo said:
“The first question was clearly designed to provoke the response Tesco wanted.
“Asking residents if they want improved supermarket shopping in the town centre is not the same as asking whether they are in support of Tesco’s plan. Of course a majority of residents will want improvements, who wouldn’t? The key point is that improved supermarket shopping doesn’t have to mean double the trading area of the current store.
“The reality is that residents are frustrated that Tesco only made minor changes and ignored community concerns when drafting these new plans.”
