Jo presses Council on Cadder to Balmore bridge repair

Local MP Jo Swinson has written to East Dunbartonshire Council regarding the status of the Cadder to Balmore footbridge. Ms. Swinson wrote on behalf of a constituent who had been looking for news as to whether the bridge, which had been unsafe to use for around four months, would be replaced soon.

The Council responded to confirm that a replacement footbridge will be built in this financial year but did not provide a specific timeframe for the repairs.

Commenting Jo said:

“While it is good that there are plans to repair it, local residents who have been unable to use the bridge for walks or bike rides should be given a specific date as to when the crossing will be reinstated.”
